On June 17 I was delighted to present a keynote speech on supervision at the Irish Association of Social Workers conference where the theme ‘Promoting Best Practice in Social Work Supervision’.
The title of my talk was ‘Social work supervision for changing contexts: Themes from theory and research’ . In the talk I canvassed the following themes: the nature of changing professional work with reference to theories of professionalism; the impact of the climate of austerity on supervision and the research agenda for supervision.
